It was one quiet winter evening, after one of my boys looked at me and said, “Mum, are you okay?”, that it finally hit me: I wasn’t.
I was caught in a cycle of overwork and silent struggle. Working 10-hour days, holding responsibilities no one else could take on, all while trying to care for my family and keep up appearances. As I entered midlife, I couldn’t sleep; my mind wouldn’t stop racing. I felt the weight of impossible expectations - both from others and myself. As a nurse and medical educator in a busy clinical world, I didn’t feel I had permission to admit I was burning out. I believed I should have all the answers, and yet I was falling apart inside. What I really needed was space… to rest, to be heard, to realise I didn’t have to do it all.
I knew there had to be a better way, so I began investing in my own health and wellbeing through holistic, proven practices like Qigong, breathwork, mindfulness, and meditation. Slowly, I began to reclaim my energy, my calm, and my confidence - and now I help other midlife women do the same.
🌸 My vision is simple: that midlife doesn’t have to feel like the end of who you were. It can be the beginning of becoming who you’re meant to be. That you don’t have to keep running on empty, quietly fading into the background, or feeling like you’ve lost yourself. That you can feel calm, clear, focused, confident and fully at home in yourself again.
Because you are not crazy. You are not broken. You don’t have to just cope. You are not alone.
I created this challenge as a gentle first step - a way to press pause, reset your energy, and begin your journey back to you.
